Cloud DevOps Engineer / Architect


The Cloud DevOps Engineer / Architect (Focused on FEDRAMP-FISMA) is responsible for working on on-prem-to-cloud application migration projects, implementation of the hybrid cloud platform, cloud DevOps automation of large Java applications into the cloud, collaborating with the Team Lead(s) to coordinate project deliverables, interface with leadership, Group Leads, and Lead Architects to convey infrastructure requirements, plan, and schedule deployment of tasks, and resolve any issues that impact the deployment of the Application delivery systems. The role will include systems and solution design within the existing architecture, as well as design/implementation of improvements to meet business needs.

In this highly visible role you will:
  • Work directly with GCP Professional services
  • Drive work products with alliances in making critical decisions around multiple technical workstreams
  • 70% DevOps Engineer, implementing projects on the cloud using cloud solutions
  • 30% Solutions Architect supporting application teams on the migration projects
  • Guiding platform engineering
  • Guide teams with DevOps best practices, including improved scalability, performance, reliability, and speed to market
  • Provide guidance in technical design, and plan team activities and providing direction to team members
  • Guiding Infrastructure engineering teams to drive new technologies into the stack that provide tangible value to our business and consumers
Required Skills:
  • 6+ years of prior experience in this role.
  • 2+ years of experience in government systems and authorities operate (Fisma, FedRAMP) architecture/designs
  • Languages: Python, Bash, Groovy, Optional: Ruby, PowerShell
  • Cloud: AWS, GCP (certification required), Optional: Azure
  • Orchestration: Terraform, CloudFormation
  • Configuration Management: Ansible, Optional: Chef
  • Containers: Docker, Kubernetes
Soft Skills: 
  • Ability to communicate project needs across all business lines
  • Ability to speak cross-functionally with business units and software engineering teams
  • Ownership, accountability, and self-managed professional to work in a project with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of software project release automation
  • Experience with Build/deployment/Software Configuration/Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery/Release Engineering process
  • Experience with Linux/Windows systems administration, both physical and virtual systems
  • University degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years driving FedRAMP documenation practices and can function as FedRAMP SME
  • Experience in technical / security projects
  • Self-motivated problem solver who thrives in a dynamic and customer-focused environment
  • Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain composure in stressful situations, respond to customer needs quickly and effectively, and adapt to change
  • Highly analytical, technically proficient, and able to learn new tools and software quickly
  • Work and navigate in a high-stress environment
Preferred Skills:
  • Conceptual understanding of Cloud, Security Controls
  • Prior experience working in security services and understanding cybersecurity frameworks and controls (NIST CSF)
  • Experience and understanding working with legal and regulatory standards (PCI, Fedramp, CCPA, GDPR, etc.)
