Overview

The Data Scientist provides merchandizing, sales, and marketing teams with the capabilities of delivering personalized e-commerce experience. Critical thinking and problem solving skills are essential for interpreting data.

 

Requirements

  • Knowledge of data mining.

  • Knowledge of big data stack.

  • Familiarity with Hadoop and R is a must.

 

We’d love to see

  • Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc, and their real world drawbacks and advantages.

  • Good applied statistics knowledge, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.

  • Good programming and scripting skills.

  • Experience with data scientist toolkit include R, Scala, Spark, NumPy, Matlab.

  • Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig.

  • Experience with streaming processing like Kafka

  • Experience with BI tools like Tableau.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Collect/refine/cleansing source data include but not limit to: order transactions/obligations, marketing campaigns, customer profile, and product taxonomy.

  • Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcome.

  • Mine and analyze data to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business initiatives.

  • Apply machine learning capabilities to define/develop recommendation framework.

  • Develop A/B testing framework and test model quality.

  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and measure model performance and data accuracy.

  • Evaluating new technologies, data scientist tooling, learn and master new technologies and techniques. 

  • Collaborate with development team to standardize/collect key analytical matrix.

  • Maintain big data ecosystems.
