The Job

As the Engineering leader of our Building Automation Platform, you will manage the team that delivers for Buildings solutions. You will push the industry forward by enhancing energy efficiency, reducing commissioning & maintenance costs, and extending asset lifespans.

You’re an experienced software engineer and manager, with a passion for organizational development and people growth. You will manage project goals, contribute to product strategy, drive architecture decisions, and design IoT solutions that solve real problems for our client’s customers. You will guide your team towards operating with speed and effectiveness, while building a group of world-class software engineers.

The Requirements

8+ years work experience in software roles, with 4+ years in management

Released & maintained IoT products, preferably in the Building Automation domain

Comfortable leading a distributed team spread across multiple time zones

Knowledgeable in distributed systems, APIs (allows two applications to talk to each other), cloud computing, and scalability

Experience programming in Python, or willingness & ability to learn quickly

Excellent written & verbal communication skills

Degree in CS or understanding of Computer Science fundamentals

Bonus Points

Work experience in the Building Automation industry

Understanding of BACnet, Haystack, MQTT, and related IoT protocols

Exposure to different agile modalities & methodologies

Hands-on experience with Azure, Kubernetes, IaC, observability, and monitoring

Developed & maintained production quality front-ends

Delivered products that simplify timeseries analysis and data visualizations

Contributed to hardware products or embedded systems
