Java Software Engineer

 

Overview

A software company specializing in providing financial services software nationally and internationally is seeking a well skilled Java Software Engineer/Analyst to join the flagship product team.

 

Requirements

  • 5+ years Software development experience on the Java EE platform.

  • Strong Java skills including working knowledge of core libraries and design patterns.

  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming

 

We’d love to see

  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML CSS, AJAX and JQuery

  • Experience with Spring Framework

  • Experience developing multithreaded applications

  • Strong SQL skills and relational database knowledge (Oracle preferred)

  • Significant development experience in a Windows/Unix/Linux environment

  • Experience developing within a microservices environment

  • Experience creating a CI/CD environment

  • Experience with version control tools like SVN or Git

  • Exposure and understanding Servlet Containers e.g. Apache Tomcat

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies desired

  • Good understanding of build and deploy procedures

  • Knowledge of the following technologies is a plus: ActiveMQ, ORM tools e.g. Hibernate, Quartz Scheduler, REST/SOAP Web Services

  • Knowledge/or experience with Oracle SQL*Loader

 

Responsibilities 

This is an opportunity to develop Web-based, Java, J2EE and SQL-based software applications for the financial services industry. The position involves design, new product development, making enhancements to legacy applications, and maintenance of highly complex transaction-based software and related applications.
