The Project Management Office (PMO) Analyst is responsible for overseeing all PMO operational functions. This role will support the PMO Team in planning and project management discipline ensuring efficient delivery. Principally responsible for analyzing project data and PMO information to enhance or create operational processes governed by the PMO. The PMO Analyst will also serve as the Administrator of our PPM tool used for project prioritization, tracking, and dashboard reporting.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Actively champion PMO best practices to drive better project planning, delivery and change management
  • Act as Administrator for Project Portfolio Management (PPM) Tool and provide Training to users of the tool
  • Work with Project Owners to ensure key data on projects reflect correct status and are updated timely
  • Monitor metrics and generate reports to highlight the value of IT and bring visibility to achievements and issues requiring resolution
  • Create and/or document all PMO operational processes including but not limited to:

o Request/Intake Process

o Prioritization

o Project Tracking and Management

o PMO Standards

o PPM Tool Wikis

  • Define, plan and initiate projects within the PPM Tool prior to PMO resource assignment
  • Create and maintain templates for initiation, requirements, and reporting (as well as others)
  • Assist in evaluating and proposing solutions that maximize existing investments and drive business value
  • Manage project timelines and provide insightful financial and business analysis and develop reporting to define and track key program metrics and help drive business goals
  • Continuously look for improvement of processes and tools to further evolve the PMO and the use of industry best practices

 

Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge/Expert-level (5-7 years) experience using Excel
  • At least 3 years prior experience managing PPM tools (ie Workfront, Plainview, etc)
  • Previous role in prioritizing multiple projects and initiatives at the same time
  • Knowledge of Visio or other tool used for process map and workflow diagram creation
  • Basic knowledge of SharePoint and ability to upload & edit repository site
  • Experience facilitating meetings and conducting user training
  • Strong familiarity with project management methodologies including Waterfall & Agile (Kanban or Scrum)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior experience in Supply Chain or Manufacturing company considered a plus
  • Project Management certification not required but, considered a plus
