Quality Assurance

Growing IOT Security company seeks a Software QA Lead. This position is 100% remote and the client prefers candidates in the Northern Atlanta area.  The person in this role is a critical member of the development team, and serves as the “quality advocate” for a connected device management platform that includes web and mobile applications running on various hardware platforms. The role will both lead and execute product testing efforts to certify high quality product releases.  The ideal candidate will have experience testing complex software applications and hardware with an understanding of network communications.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the Quality Assurance efforts for a product line including web based applications, hardware components and wireless communications
  • Develop, maintain and execute test scripts and end user scenarios to verify product functionality performs as designed and meets customer needs
  • Perform quality assurance testing for web applications running in the cloud, on various hardware platforms, as well as communications between IoT type devices
  • Identify, analyze and document defects with application functionality, user interface and device communications using an issue tracking system
  • Work with development team using an Agile Scrum methodology and participate in all phases of the iterative process
  • Plan test schedules and strategies in accordance with release scope or delivery dates including the creation of regression scripts and test plans
  • Assist in troubleshooting production related customer issues
  • Lead collaborative story reviews and coordinate testing efforts across a cross functional team
  • Propose, define and implement processes and standards for improved testing processes
  • Maintain technical skills and awareness of improvements in software test practices and toolsets including automation
  • Performs the application build process for QA environment
  • Documents and communicates release quality and procedures with internal stakeholders including installation steps and software defects
  • Develop and document internal and customer facing product procedures
  • Reports on quality metrics, team statistics and other product-line KPIs
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a software quality assurance testing role
  • Experience successfully applying agile/scrum methodology to develop and execute software test plans including continuous integration and test driven development
  • A solid understanding of network communications and protocols
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and the understanding of how to find flaws in complex software
  • Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Ability to self-direct effectively prioritize tasks, multi-task, and meet deadlines
  • Experience testing GUI and functional user workflows
  • Experience with tools and applications like JIRA, Confluence, Git, Docker, Selenium, Azure DevOps
  • Strong analytical capabilities and data analysis techniques
  • Strong commitment to quality and ability to work closely and communicate effectively with developers and product managers
  • Experience with retail loss prevention equipment such as cameras and public view monitors is a plus
  • Experience with Linux, RaspberryPi, IoT type hardware is a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical Degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience
