Senior Manager of Software Development

 

Overview

Actively looking for an innovation-minded Senior Manager of Software Development, to lead the lifecycle and production of our next-gen Analytics and IoT solutions. The Senior Manager of Software Development is a hands-on leadership role that provides fluent Agile and asset management, cloud software engineering, test-driven development, and overall programming direction, under continuous delivery, to multiple Agile teams.

 

Requirements

  • BS in Computer Science or related field

  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholder audiences

  • 10+ years of software development experience, with a strong focus on cloud (including Azure) development and application architecture.

 

We’d love to see

  • 5+ years of experience building and supporting medium to large-scale, "mission critical" "high availability" production systems that directly support essential business, and technical, or operational functions.

  • 4+ years of experience with asset control and documentation—Git, Azure DevOps, Confluence.

  • 4+ years of experience working as a Software Development Manager or Technical lead.

  • 4+ years of experience leading teams under Agile methodologies, SCRUM master certification is a strong plus.

  • Ability to be hands-on in code development activities.

  • 4+ years of JavaScript/Node.js and/or Java/Scala experience.

  • Fluent working knowledge of modern cloud, web, and mobile technologies.

  • 2+ years of experience of software development using cloud technologies (including Azure).

  • Working knowledge of software and cyber security.

  • Master of Science in Computer Science or related field.

  • An understanding of industry and technology trends in Supply Chain.

  • Experience with Azure IoT Hub.

  • Proficiency in Java, C#, and SQL.

  • Expertise in designing modern and responsive user experience for multiple products using experience design tools such as JustInMind, Sketch, and Adobe XD.

  • Expertise in implementing user interface using modern frameworks such as Polymer, Vue.js, and Angular.

  • Ability to accommodate some domestic and international travel.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead teams of architects and developers of various skillset and seniority profiles to build, operate, improve, and support cloud and enterprise foundations and applications.

  • Lead Agile/SCRUM management efforts.

  • Work closely with product owner(s) and technical leads to define and prioritize cloud-based architecture and deliverables.

  • Recruit and mentor exceptional software architects and developers.

  • Deliver commercial Analytics (Descriptive, Prescriptive, and Predictive) solutions in Cloud-based As-a-Service model.

  • Provide expertise developing software in modern enterprise-class languages and development platforms, with a strong emphasis on cloud-based development using JavaScript/Node.js, Java/J2EE/Scala, and Python and ability to potentially mix in other new and emerging technologies as appropriate.

  • Provide expertise in cloud and enterprise Software Architecture design principles.

  • Provide expertise in supporting production systems and software.

  • Provide expertise in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery principles.
