Software Development Lead to support the Software Development Manager in Application Development projects assigned as well as closely collaborate with the project delivery team, the development team(s) and internal colleagues in order to meet the specified requirements of a project. This position is also responsible for facilitating, prioritizing and fostering communications for internal and external Clients.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Communicate to software developers in Vietnam and drive the team executing Application Development effectively
  • Creating and managing the development plan for Application Development projects to ensure the triple constraint for projects
  • Responsible for the software quality of the projects
  • Liaising with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
  • Identifying, managing and controlling the change control process both with internal and external stakeholders
  • Participating with the Software manager to define and develop best practices and tools for project execution and management
  • Assisting in reviewing and analyzing existing application effectiveness and efficiency, and then developing strategies for improving or leveraging these systems
  • Researching and making recommendations on software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts
  • Designing, developing and testing enhancements and upgrades to systems and application software
  • Mentoring and leading other developers on the team

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years direct experience in software development and/or programming design and systems management
  • 3+ years' experience within the supply chain industry
  • 3+ years of successfully leading & mentoring developers (6-10 developers)
  • 3+ years of client-facing experience
  • Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of software solutions
  • Hands-on experience with automated software and system management tools
  • Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of software implementation best practices and methodologies
  • Extensive experience with core software applications, including Netbeans, Visual Studio, Redmine and GIT
  • Technically fluent in programming languages, including Java, C, C++, PL/SQL and Oracle
  • Knowledge of database design and file management techniques
  • Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Linux, Microsoft Windows
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Ability to conduct research into application development issues and products
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • “Can-do” attitude
  • Good presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
