Software Quality Engineer

Staff Software Quality Engineer, Sustaining Engineering will be responsible for Level 3 and a higher level of production engineering support of our products. Troubleshooting, finding a root cause and identifying a workaround for customer Severity 1, Severity 2, Priority 1 & Priority 2 issues within SLA time period are the major success factors for this role.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Debug, profile and troubleshoot complex problems in live environments
  • Interface with customer & customer support team to reproduce a production issue
  • Develop test scenarios, test cases and validate production defects in a timely manner
  • Prepare and validate instructions to apply production fixes in the customer environment
  • Expertise in staging in-house environments for specific customer infrastructure
  • Test & validate that the enhancements and fixes are scalable, reliable and maintainable
  • As needed, create Oracle Database SQL Queries to troubleshoot customer functional issues
  • Understand released Ondot Products flows, configurations to reproduce production issues
  • Follow Quality Control processes according to industry-standard practices
  • Take initiative and work independently to meet organizational priorities
  • Be a team player in a global team that works round the clock to meet customer needs

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented individual, who can work in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to changes to meet customer production issues
  • Advanced proficiency in Troubleshooting and communication skillsDecision-making capability to switch between multiple customer production issues
  • 8+ years of QA experience
  • 5+ years of ISO 8583 testing experience
  • 5+ years of Java, JEE, Multi-Threading, and Multi-Tier applications testing experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Linux & Oracle Database

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • SOAP & REST client testing
  • JSON & XML technologies-based application testing
  • Testing TCP/IP, JMS or MQ applications
  • Experience working in a product company’s sustaining engineering team

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Math, or equivalent experience
