Training Specialist

 

Overview

We are looking for a Training Specialist with strong communication skills, a desire to learn, and an ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts, to join the Technical Communications Team.

 

As a Training Specialist, you will report to the Head of Technical Communications. You will help to deliver and develop our customer and internal training programs. You will work closely with the engineering, commercial, data science and project teams to understand their needs and the needs of our customers, and to develop a broad understanding of our products and how they are used. As well as imparting that knowledge to our customers, you will also provide internal training to your colleagues, and help to design and develop our training programmes, and create internal and customer-facing training materials and supporting documents.

 

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, primarily in a face-to-face environment, but also in creating written materials to support your training

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear and engaging way

  • Experience teaching technical concepts to a range of audiences

 

We’d love to see

  • Demonstrable organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Understanding of any programming language is desirable, as some training will involve teaching coding concepts and introducing trainees to our in-house business rules language

  • Familiarity with commonly used tools and software for presenting and creating training materials (e.g. Microsoft Powerpoint)

  • Basic Linux skills are desirable, but ability and desire to learn are more essential

  • Experience with Learning Management System (LMS) software is desirable

 

Responsibilities 

  • Train our customers on various aspects of our products, from the basics of how to use the software, through to technical topics such as installation, deployment and configuration

  • Deliver training for a range of audiences, from non-technical end users to experienced system administrators and developers

  • Create and update training materials such as presentations, supporting documents, and other content

  • Help to continually develop, improve, and expand our customer training programme, including gathering feedback from customers and internal stakeholders on the effectiveness of our training

  • Work with colleagues from the commercial, engineering, data science, product, project management and other teams to develop and provide internal training on aspects of our products, and our internal tools and processes

  • Help to maintain and develop our internal learning and development programmes, supporting the HR team to provide training and skills development for all our employees
