We are growing our thrift business across multiple states and are seeking a candidate who will play a significant role in building our dashboard and reporting environment.  As a Technical Reporting Analyst (Tableau/SQL), you will design dashboards and visualizations for company-wide consumption.  You will interact with key members of the management team, process designer/owners, and personnel across the organization.  And, your work will be instrumental in measuring operational performance and outcomes across the enterprise.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with custom development team to improve current database structures design for efficient report and analysis query responsiveness and influence database optimization design for new development

  • Perform data cleansing and transformations while ensuring integrity, completeness & consistency across reporting environment

  • Maintain and develop user-friendly reports in Tableau

  • Create complex SQL statements, manage script automation and job scheduling for dashboard and alert-based consumption

  • Monitor reporting environment for performance-related issues and correct such items as they arise

  • Develop financial, geospatial, and employee-based performance reports

  • Engage/partner with business process owners and gather reporting requirements

  • Develop project plan and offer estimated time frames for project completion

  • Translate business processes & goals into KPIs and reports

  • Lead user-based training sessions around report utilization & functionality

  • Maintain user admin tools, user access, and respond to issues in a timely manner


Required Education, Training, & Experience: 

  • 2+ years designing reports in Tableau

  • 2+ years writing complex SQL scripts

  • Proven experience as a problem solver

  • Must be able to manage multiple projects

  • Experience in retail, thrift, manufacturing, and/or sales a plus

  • Must be able to work independently in an office-based environment based in Birmingham, AL

  • College degree preferred but not required

  • Occasional travel (< 5%)
